LACQUA18 will be held in Bogota, Colombia, from 23 to 26 October 2018.
This annual meeting of the Latin American and Caribbean Chapter of WAS will draw international attention to the aquaculture industry of Colombia and South America.
The LACQUA 18 event will be combined with the VIII Colombian Aquaculture Congress and the WAS regional meeting (South American Regional Aquaculture 2018). The exhibition will gather aquaculture suppliers from all around the word displaying the latest innovations in terms of equipment, supplies and services.
Conferences will address all major aquatic species cultured in Colombia and other Latin America countries with a special focus on tilapia, trout, South American fish and shrimp.
José G. Duarte Barboza, LATAM Technical Manager at Diana Aqua, will give a lecture about “The effect of diets supplemented with tuna and shrimp hydrolysates on the growth and health performances of juveniles of litopenaeus vannamei”, session alimentación y nutrición de camarones/shrimp feeding and nutrition on Friday October 26, at 12:20 pm.
This presentation will demonstrate that even though squid-based products have traditionally been considered as shrimp growth promoting ingredients, the results of our trial showed that there are other marine raw material and processing yielding equivalent or even at higher growth rates, while improving shrimp health status.
